enfield tour (Manali - Prasherlake - Rewalsar)

Uwe and i started with two enfield (Uwe had a 500ccm, and id had 350ccm) in Manali. we rode down to Kullu, and had a Chai there. after we was trying to find the way to the Prasher lake. finally we found it! and then on the way, uwe had some problems with his bike, the fuel was just running out, like a small stream! so we went half way back to Kullu, but then, everything was ok, so we dident go back to Kullu. the landscape was amazing, and the ride was awesome!

Prasher lake. that place looks like heaven! 2609 meter over sealevel. a 300 year old wooden hindi temple, and a small lake, with a small flooting grasiland. from time to time the iland is moving, from that side to the other side. sure is the wind, but the indians believe is god, wich make the iland chancing..

we had a tent with us, so we camped right there! the sunset and sunrise was unbelievible nice!! and we had simple but very good food at the small stall there!

we packed everything and then we headed to Mandi. Yes we had to search for the way again, but now for Rewalsar, but sure finally we found also this way! we rode most of the time on small roads, so not lot of traffic, but still busy, and we had to drive carefully!

Rewalsar is the place where Guru Ringpoche (Padmasambhava) was living! he was the man, who brought buddhism to Tibet, he was a great teacher, he was also taking the old bön religion from Tibet into buddhism, so the people had still the old god's! also intresting was, that on the same mountain was a hindi temple as well, and the buddhist temple, with the cave of Guru Padmasambhava.

we had our tent on the rooftop of Raju's house. very nice view down to Rewalsar! and very lovely family!
