Zhangye 张掖 / Great Buddha Temple 大佛寺

main hall - it's one of the few wooden structures from this era still standing in China

Funny, i ask on the reception desk where is the great buddha. Maybe they cane help me and point on the map. But the dident understud me, so i was brought me guide book, and show them the chinese name. They start to laugh, the temple is just back at the hotel. Originally the temple is from the year 1098. There is the biggest sleeping Buddha (35m) in China.
